Fishing the Northwoods
With one of the world's highest concentrations of inland
freshwater lakes including over 1300 lakes and 73 rivers and
streams, great fishing and leisure activities are within minutes
of your door. Panfish, bass, walleye, trout, northern pike, and musky can be found throughout the lakes of Vilas County.
There are also scheduled fishing events throughout the County offering both open water and ice-fishing opportunities. So grab your fishing and tackle box and plan a trip to Wisconsin's northwoods lake country and find your special place!
