Lac du Flambeau

Waswagoning, “a place where they fish by torchlight,” is the name that the Ojibwe gave their Northwoods home. French fur traders named the area Lac du Flambeau, “Lake of the Torch.” Fishing is just one of the many activities that you can enjoy the area’s more than 250 lakes, including a ten-lake chain.
